I was fortunate enough to spend the morning with an awesome family last Saturday. The Tsang kids were an energetic bunch and we were able to capture some awesome images of them and the entire family. It was such a treat to work with Melissa, Pete and the kids. Here are some of the shots from that session.

I remember the days playing softball in the Filipino Softball League and various tournaments. So when he asked me to shoot their special day, I was honored. Since their wedding will be in New Jersey, we though we would use the Chicago fall landscape for our giant backdrop. Here are some of the images from their eSession.
Saturday was a beautiful day for a wedding. It was such a blast to capture Amy & Brian's Wedding Day. I first met Amy & Brian last year at Great America through her mother Peggy and later learned that Amy was also an aspiring photographer. If you haven't checked it out already, here is a link to their Wedding website. Here are some of the images from that day:
Day 3 (June 17) On Tuesday, June 16, we originally scheduled a day trip to Delphi. However, there was a strike with the tour company and the trip was cancelled. So instead of going to the Island of Aegina on Thursday, we decided to go today. We got up early and hopped on a ferry to Aegina. We were able to go one of the fast Flying Dolphin which got us into Aegina in 30 minutes......amazing. Upon arrival at the port, we did a little shopping, then went on our way to see the Temple of Aphaia. Afterwards, we had some grilled fresh octopus and some of Aegina's finest pistachio ice cream. After we returned from Aegina, we did some more shopping at the Plaka in Athens.
Here is the Flying Dolphin

On our way back to the town of Aegina, we saw some of Aegina's famous Pistachio trees. These pistachios will be ready to pick in August
When we got back into town, we saw a restaurant with fresh octopus hanging in front.....
so we decided to have grilled fresh octopus...
and some Ouzo to wash it down!!!
While we were eating, I snapped a shot of typical Greek Island transportation.......scooter!

Day 4 (June 18) So the tour strike is over and we were able to book a tour for Delphi. We got on our bus for the three hour ride to Delphi on another hot day (90 degrees). Thank goodness the bus was air-conditioned. When we got to Delphi, we were able to see the ruins of the Temple of Apollo along with other sites. Upon our return from Delphi, we had to pack our baggage as we are off to Mykonos the next day. However, had a nightcap with Spiro on top of the Athens Hilton where we saw an awesome view of the city and the Acropolis at night....AMAZING!!!

After the tour, we ran into a baby kitten
Day 5 (June 19) We got up early (5 am) because we had to take the Metro to the port of Pirraeus so that we could catch our ferry boat to Mykonos which was departing at 7:35 am. It was a 5 hour fairy ride which made two stops but would arrive in Mykonos around 1 pm. When we arrived in Mykonos, we were greeted with nice weather and a cool breeze. Upon arriving in our beautiful hotel, The Palladium, we got upgraded into a suite. Here is a view of Pliaty Gialos from our hotel room balcony. We also went out to the Paradise Club later in the evening for a night of dancing with the Ministry of Sound (will post those pics later after I download them)

Our Greece Trip
Day 1 I thought it would be nice to chronicle our trip to Greece whenever I had time and the internet connection to do so. So we left on Sunday morning, June 14 for London where we would connect for Athens. When we got to London, we had to claim our bag in customs and then give to the baggage handlers since they were already check through to Athens. So we arrived in Athens at noon on Monday, June 15....but with no bags. When we heard our names announced on the intercom to proceed to baggage claim 3, I knew it wasn't good. Apparently, our bags were still on the tarmac at Heathrow and would be put on the next flight to Athens.....GREAT! So they told us our bags would be delivered to our hotel room. Luckily, my friend from High School, Spiro, was picking us up from the airport. Since we had no bags, he took us out by his house where we picked up his girlfriend, Thomai, and went to go shopping for some swim attire since we were heading to the beach. When we left his place, we noticed a lot of smoke in the air. Turns out there was a brush fire in the mountains. We enjoyed the rest of the day at the beach and then went out to dinner with Spiro and Thomai in Minastiraki (fabulous authentic Greek food). When we got back to our hotel, our bags were there......YEAH!!! What an interesting first day. Here are some of the images from day 1.
Day 2 We grabbed some breakfast to prepare for our long day of walking. After breakfast, we bought some bottled water and made our way to the Acropolis to see the Parthenon and other historical buildings. Food thing we bought water as the temperature proceeded to reach 90 degrees. After the Acropolis, we went to go visit the Temple of Zeus, Parliament and the tomb of the unknown soldier at Syntagma Square and then did some shopping at the flea markets of Manistiraki. Here are some of the images from day 2.
Maria & Demetrius - June 13, 2009
Woke up on the morning of Saturday, June 13 to heavy rain....but for some reason I thought the day would be good. And it was....it stopped raining before the outdoor ceremony of Maria & Demetrius. After doing Maria & Demetrius' e-session, this wonderful and amazing couple made it so easy for me to generate some beautiful images. Here are some of them shot with the help of my awesome second photographer Sandra Ortiz.

Last Thursday, I got together with some fellow wedding photographers to have a fun night out in Chicago and shoot. It was great getting together with some familiar faces as well as meeting new people. Thanks to Robyn from Studio R and Monica from Monica Z Photography for putting this outing together!
I was able to spend a beautiful afternoon with Maria & Demetrius shooting their engagement session at Millenneum Park. Although the weather was a bit chilly, we were lucky that we had a gorgeous spring day with no rain or snow, especially in Chicago. Maria & Demetrius, who are good friends of my brother, were such a joy to work with. Along with my good friend, Doug Richter, we were able to capture some beautiful images below. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in June.

To celebrate her "Debut" or introduction into the community as an adult, Christy, along with her Parents, family and friends practiced and perfected some beautifully choreagraphed dances. I am so happy to be able to share some of the images from that day in these pictures and slideshow below. Congratulations to Christy!!!!
